Details
The SBW Berlin Scholarship supports young people from abroad who come from financially disadvantaged family backgrounds and use the skills they acquire during their studies in Germany to support long-term non-profit projects, preferably in their home countries. The scholarship is awarded for the duration of the standard period of study.
Eligibility Criteria
•Foreign nationals, recognized refugees, or holders of a settlement permit
•Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old
•Must have professional or volunteer experience in the non-profit sector
•Must not have resided in Germany for more than 18 months prior to application
•Must intend to return to home country for at least 18 months after graduation to work on social projects
•Must have a grade point average corresponding to a German GPA of at least 2.0
•Must be able to prove a relatively low net income

•Accommodation in SBW student apartments in Berlin
•Monthly cost-of-living allowance (approx. 480 Euro)
•Travel allowance for the journey to Berlin and the return journey home
