Eligibility
•You hold nationality in a country outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland, or Suriname and meet the requirements for obtaining an entry visa and residence permit for the Netherlands.
•You do not hold a dual nationality from an EU/EEA country.
•You have applied for admission to a participating full-time Master's programme at Maastricht University.
•You meet the specific admission requirements of the UM Master's programme to which you have applied.
•You have never participated in a degree-seeking higher education programme in the Netherlands (students who completed an exchange programme in the Netherlands are welcome to apply).
•You are not older than 35 years of age on 1 September of the academic intake year.
•You have obtained excellent results during your prior education programmes, demonstrating outstanding academic achievement (such as being in the top 5% of your graduating class).
Details
The Maastricht University (UM) NL-High Potential Scholarship programme offers 24 full scholarships each academic year to highly talented students from outside the European Union (EU) who have gained admission to a Master's degree programme at Maastricht University. The scholarship combines the High Potential Scholarship (funded by the Maastricht University Scholarship Fund) and the NL Scholarship (funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science alongside Dutch research universities). Applicants must first apply for admission to an eligible UM Master's programme to receive their student ID before submitting the scholarship application.
Financial Benefits
•Living expenses: €15,300 for a 13-month Master's programme or €27,900 for a 25-month Master's programme
•Health and liability insurance: arranged and covered by Maastricht University (approx. €700)
•Visa application costs: arranged and covered by Maastricht University (approx. €228)
•Tuition fees: fully covered at institutional rate by Maastricht University
•Pre-Academic Training costs: fully covered by Maastricht University
