Eligibility
•Must be a citizen of one of the eligible countries specified by the Swedish Institute
•Must have a minimum of 3,000 hours of demonstrated work experience
•Must demonstrate leadership experience from current or previous employment or civil society organizations
•Must have applied to an eligible, full-time master's degree programme at a Swedish university via University Admissions Sweden and be liable to pay tuition fees
•Must not have previously held a Swedish Institute scholarship for master's level study or degree in Sweden
•Must not currently hold a degree from or be enrolled in a Swedish university or university college
Details
The Swedish Institute (SI) Scholarships for Global Professionals is a prestigious, fully funded scholarship programme funded by the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs. It aims to develop future global leaders who will contribute to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and drive positive development in their home countries and regions. The scholarship is awarded for full-time one-year or two-year master's programmes in Sweden taught in English. Applicants must follow a two-step process: first applying for master's programmes through University Admissions Sweden, and subsequently applying for the SI Scholarship through the SI application portal during the application window in February.
Financial Benefits
•Full tuition fee coverage paid directly by SI to the Swedish university
•Monthly living allowance of SEK 12,000 to cover living expenses throughout the study period
•Travel grant (one-time grant of SEK 10,000 to SEK 15,000 depending on country of origin)
•Comprehensive health and accident insurance provided by the Swedish State's Insurance Agency (Kammarkollegiet)
•Membership in the SI Network for Future Global Professionals (NFGP) for leadership development and networking during the study period
•Membership in the SI Alumni Network after graduation
