Australia Awards Scholarships are long-term awards administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. They aim to contribute to the development needs of Australia's partner countries in line with bilateral and regional agreements. The scholarships provide opportunities for people from developing countries to undertake full-time undergraduate or postgraduate study at participating Australian universities and Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutions.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be citizens of a participating country (includes many African countries like The Gambia).
- Meet the minimum English language proficiency requirements.
- Satisfy the academic requirements of the chosen course.
- Meet specific country-specific eligibility criteria (e.g., age limits, work experience).
- Not be a permanent resident of Australia or New Zealand.
Financial Benefits
Full tuition fees, return air travel, establishment allowance, contribution to living expenses (CLE), Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), introductory academic program (IAP), supplementary academic support, fieldwork allowance (for research students), and other support.
