Details
The SURF program provides students with the opportunity to conduct a 10-week intensive research project under the guidance of experienced mentors at Caltech and JPL. Students get a chance to experience the process of research as a creative intellectual activity.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a continuing undergraduate student and have at least one term of undergraduate education remaining after the SURF project.
- Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5/4.0.
- Open to both Caltech and non-Caltech students, including international students who can obtain the necessary visa.
- Must complete the application, which includes a research proposal.
Financial Benefits
The fellowship provides a stipend of $7,100 for the ten-week period. A travel allowance may also be provided. This is intended to cover all costs associated with the internship, including housing.
