The Research Analyst Program (RAP) at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, D.C., provides recent university graduates with an opportunity to work alongside international economists on macroeconomics, policy research, and country surveillance. Research Analysts support primary research, construct and manage complex quantitative datasets, and build econometric models. The contract is typically for a period of two to three years, preparing participants for competitive doctoral programs and careers in economic analysis.

Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
Strong academic standing with proven quantitative and analytical capability
Proficiency with econometric and statistical software such as Python, R, Stata, Julia, MATLAB, or SQL
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Interest in international economics, macroeconomics, finance, and public policy
Intention to pursue a Ph.D. in Economics or related discipline in the future is highly preferred
