The UKRI Early Independence Career Development Fellowship supports outstanding early career researchers in taking the next step toward becoming independent research leaders. The scheme enables fellows to undertake an ambitious research programme, build their research profile, and establish themselves within an eligible UK host institution.
Eligibility Criteria
•Open to early career researchers demonstrating exceptional potential to transition to research independence
•Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent professional research experience
•Must be hosted by an eligible UK research organisation (university, research council institute, or recognized independent research organisation)
•Applicants must not already hold a tenured academic position or an equivalent independent research fellowship
•Open to international applicants moving to a UK host institution
