ERC Starting Grants are designed to give newly independent researchers the chance to establish their own research team and pursue their most compelling scientific ideas. They are highly competitive and support groundbreaking research.
Eligibility Criteria
Early-career researchers of any nationality who have been awarded their first PhD 2 to 7 years prior to the call for proposals. Must have a track record of excellent research and a promising research project. Host institution must be in an EU Member State or Associated Country.
Financial Benefits
Up to €1.5 million for a period of up to 5 years, plus up to €1 million for specific costs.
