Eligibility
•Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in any field, awarded no later than August 31 of the year of enrollment
•An outstanding academic record
•Strong interest in the interdisciplinary study of China
•A record of extracurricular achievement, community engagement, social responsibility, and leadership potential
•English language proficiency demonstrated through valid test scores (e.g., IELTS 7.0+, TOEFL iBT 100+, Cambridge English 185+, or CEFR C1), unless exempt by having a native English status or a degree from an institution taught entirely in English
•Applicants from Partner Universities must apply through both their home university and Yenching Academy portal
Details
The Yenching Academy of Peking University offers an intensive, interdisciplinary Master's degree program in China Studies. The Academy brings together young scholars from across the globe who demonstrate academic excellence and leadership potential. The program typically runs for two years, with the first year completed in residence at Peking University in Beijing. Fellows choose from six research areas: Economics and Management, History and Archaeology, Philosophy and Religion, Politics and International Relations, Law and Society, and Literature and Culture. Students conduct coursework, participate in field studies, and complete a master's thesis under faculty supervision.
