Eligibility
•Upper-division undergraduate student with at least 2 years of college/university completed, or graduate student
•Between 20 and 25 years old at the start of the program
•Demonstrated leadership potential outside the classroom in the community, nation, or region
•Strong English language proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking)
•Have or be eligible to obtain an international passport and U.S. visa (for international applicants)
•Academic or professional letter of recommendation from an advisor, professor, or supervisor
•Preference is given to applicants who have not previously traveled to or studied in the United States
Details
The Hansen Leadership Institute (HLI) is an intensive three-week leadership, conflict resolution, and international cooperation program hosted at the University of San Diego in California. Funded by the Fred J. Hansen Foundation, the program brings together promising young leaders from around the world and the United States to build mutual understanding, leadership skills, and cross-cultural dialogue through hands-on workshops, mediation training, study tours, and collaborative projects.
