Eligibility
•Open to outstanding mid-career researchers with an awarded PhD between 5 and 15 years prior to application, or commensurate recognized research experience
•Allowable career interruptions (e.g., parental leave, primary carer responsibilities, illness) may extend the eligibility window
•Applicants can be Australian citizens, permanent residents, or international researchers willing to reside in Australia for the duration of the fellowship
•Applications must be submitted through an Eligible Australian Administering Organisation (e.g., Australian universities or research institutions)
•Candidates must meet ARC project limits and cross-scheme eligibility requirements
Details
The ARC Future Fellowships scheme supports excellent mid-career researchers to undertake high-quality research of national and international benefit in Australia. The scheme aims to attract and retain outstanding researchers, expand Australia's knowledge base and innovation capability, and foster strategic collaborations across national and international research networks. Administered under the Discovery Program of the Australian Research Council, fellowships are tenable for four years on a full-time basis (or part-time equivalent with approval).
