The Joint Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Geography of Environmental Risks and Human Security is an international postgraduate program offered jointly by the United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS) and the Department of Geography at the University of Bonn (GIUB).
The course educates students on theoretical and applied concepts of environmental risks, natural hazards, disaster risk management, climate change adaptation, and human security. Outstanding candidates from developing countries are eligible for fully funded DAAD EPOS (Development-Related Postgraduate Courses) scholarships.
Eligibility Criteria
•Hold a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Geography or a related field (e.g., environmental science, disaster management, social sciences, urban planning, etc.)
•Have completed the bachelor's degree no more than six years prior to the application deadline
•Have at least two years of relevant professional experience after completing the undergraduate degree (mandatory for DAAD EPOS scholarship applicants)
•Be a citizen of an eligible developing or emerging country on the DAC list of ODA recipients
•Demonstrate proficiency in the English language (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, or certified equivalent)
•Academic excellence and a strong motivation letter aligning with the scope of the program
