The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Edinburgh provides fully funded postgraduate scholarships to exceptional young scholars from Africa. The program aims to train transformative leaders who will make meaningful contributions to climate resilience and sustainable futures across the African continent. Alongside financial coverage, scholars receive comprehensive academic, personal, and leadership development support throughout their studies.
Eligibility Criteria
•Must be a citizen of, and currently residing in, an African nation
•Must qualify academically for admission to an eligible full-time on-campus Master's program at the University of Edinburgh
•Must demonstrate leadership potential and commitment to returning to Africa to contribute to sustainable development
•Must demonstrate financial need and socio-economic disadvantage that would prevent studying abroad without financial assistance
•Priority is given to applicants who face significant barriers to education and have not previously studied outside of their home region
